timing is key. ... . ... . ... . . .
I am a multimedia artist and full-time floral designer. I like to think about my art through terms of science. Creating art, manipulating matter, and working with flowers has shown me the importance of timing, pressure, patience, gentleness, balance, focus and a practice of peace. I am passionate about life, creation, nature and all its diversity and simultaneous similarities. I am fascinated by philosophy and science. Art for me is an escape, time for myself, a place to chill and accomplish peace in the meantime. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister and cousin that loves music, dancing, swimming, wind, sun, rain, and especially fog and rainbows.
For the past thirty years I have explored and enjoyed life through the eyes of an artist. I was professionally trained since my teenage years. I was blessed and encouraged to pursue the fine arts. In 1999 I graduated from MIAD Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and received a BFA with a painting major. In college I sharpened my skills in drawing and painting. I also focused on sculpture and explored public art: "urban healing" in my senior thesis.
Before graduating college, in the summers of 1997 and 1998 I ran the pottery department at Camp Thunderbird in Bemidji, MN. In 2004 and 2005 I painted custom murals for a spa in Wauwatosa. I have exhibited my art around Milwaukee in galleries, bars, restaurants, jewelry stores, florists, coffee shops, smoke shops, and street fairs. I was a vender at the Milwaukee Public Market's outdoor urban market in the summers of 2006-2014 and was their featured gallery night and day artist throughout the years.
Drawing, painting, sculpture and ceramics were planned and intentional mediums I have pursued relationships with. Photography, digital art, and flowers are mediums that were unplanned and just seem to have caught my interest, time, and a fulfilling occupation. I desire more time getting to know all these mediums closer, especially clay and paint. My all-time favorite artist is Hundertwasser. I also love the works of Klimt, O'Keefe, Van Gogh, Monet, Giacometti and Dahli. I also admire diverse current artists on social media.
I have been a full-time floral designer for almost fifteen years. I really enjoy sharing loved one's emotions with flowers. Being around creations beauty every day is stimulating to the senses. I currently am employed with award winning Belle Fiori, Ltd. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin since 2018. I am in awe and inspired with life's beauty. I accept all its dirt and seasons. I would like to thank my parents for all their generosity and encouragement. I would also like to thank my friends, family and community for all their support throughout the years.
If you are interested in any original work, please message me. If you are interested in any images on my site or Instagram that are not featured in my store, message me and I can most likely make it available. Thank you for your time and interest in the arts. Peace, blessings, hope, faith and love.
